NEET UG 2022 Postponement petition

The number of registration for MBBS entrance exam Neet has crossed 18,00,00 this year, recording a significant jump of over 2.5,00,00 since 2021. 

Over 18.72,00,00 candidates have registered for national eligibility cum entrance test, Neet 2022 out of which over 10.64,00,00 are women and 8.07 lakh are men, According to the official data, reports PTI. 

The pan India exam is scheduled to be held in 13 languages on July 17, 2022.

Last year, the Neet under graduate exam was held on September 12, 2021, with over 95% of the registered candidates appearing for it.

Over 15.44,00,00 candidates had appeared for the exam, which was conducted at 3858 centres. Of these, at least 8.70,00,00 student had qualified.

General Category: 130-720

SC/ST/OBC: 108-137

In Neet 2022 : 771 foreigners, 910 non-resident Indian NRI and 647 overseas Citizen of Indian card holders have registered to fulfil their dreams to become a doctor in India. Mostly opting English as a medium of exam followed by Hindi and Tamil. 

NEET UG is the qualifying entrance exam for admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS, Bachelor of Dental Surgery BDS, Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery BAMS, Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery BSMS, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery BUMS, and Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery BHMS and BSc (H) Nursing courses.

Neet aspirants filed a petition for postponement of NEET 2022 referring to the fact that there is a little time gap between NEET UG 2021 and 2022. The aspirants has been signing an online petition. The petition, a copy of which has circulating on the social media platforms, has pointed out the situation of the aspirants who are feeling immense mental stress and pressure because of Neet UG schedule in July.
