Mordovia State University and Tajik National University extend a cooperation agreement

Since 2017 National research Ogarev Mordovia State University and Tajik National University (TNU) have been engaged in cooperation through a consortium project "Excellence in engineering education through teacher training and new approaches in Russia and Tajikistan" implemented under the Erasmus+ program, type of action "Capacity building in higher education".

In 2018, after the participation of TNU research and teaching staff in a workshop held at the Ogarev Mordovia State University within the framework of the said project, a cooperation agreement was signed. The exchange of innovative teaching methodology accumulated by universities, the pivoting toward the best practices of leading educational centers of UK, Latvia, Portugal and Romania formed a stable platform for the development of further cooperation.

The partnership reinforced itself on December 3, 2021, when the international scientific conference "Open Education in Russian: Challenges of contemporaneity and prospects for development", part of the project "Russian language in an open educational space", supported by the Russian Ministry of Education, took place. The conference attracted the attention of more than 300 scholars, educators, and members of the public from 14 countries, including Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Georgia, Iran, Spain, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Russia, USA, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Finland.

Innovative approaches to teaching Russian were discussed in the context of intercultural communication and bilingual educational environment, the successful international experience of learning in Russian was reviewed, the best practices in the organization and functioning of open education centers in Russian and Russian language teaching were presented.

Apart from acting Rector of Mordovia State University, the Vice-Rector for International Activity Olga A. Podberezkina and the Head of the International Relations Office Elena V. Soldatova were involved in finalising the release of a new cooperation agreement.

TNU's team was consisted of the Rector Khushvakhtzoda Kobildzhon Khushvakht, the Vice-Rector for International Relations Mirzamonzoda Khairullo Mirzamon, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tajikistan, representative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Igor Evgenievich Burulko.
